Fiber Optics

The emergence of cloud computing services and technologies have dramatically increased the demand on network infrastructures. Slow internet and high latency can limit data transfers, causing losses in productivity and efficiency. Fiber optic networks deliver powerful advantages including higher connection speeds and improved cloud connectivity, voice over IP (VOIP) capabilities, and overall bandwidth.

SystemOne is a certified Corning NPI installer specializing in all types of fiber installations. Installing fiber backbones for typical infrastructure environments, or outside plant campus fiber backbones, SystemOne has the experience and equipment for a high-quality installation. All fiber installations come with a 25YR Corning NPI program warranty.

  • OM1, OM2, OM3 Multimode Fiber
  • Single-Mode Fiber Installations
  • Data Center/SANs Installations
  • Fusion Splicing
  • Pre-Terminated Fiber Open Office and MTP Data Canter Installations
  • Outside Plant Fiber Installations
  • Fiber Terminations and Troubleshooting OTDR
  • Emergency 24-Hour Fiber Repair Services

Benefits of Fiber Optics

Better Bandwidth
With the emergence of Single Mode Fiber optic cable, fiber has always had much greater bandwidth than copper cables. Information can be transmitted per unit of time on fiber over other transmission media for copper, giving fiber optic cables a significant advantage.
Faster Speed
Fiber optic networks are significantly faster than even the highest-speed copper Internet connections, with options ranging from 5 Mbps to 100 Gbps.
Longer Transmission Distance
A fiber optic cable is a low power loss medium, meaning it can achieve higher bandwidths over greater transmission distances. Fiber optic cables can be used across much longer distances than the traditional limits of copper cables.
Greater Flexibility
Compared to copper cables, fiber optic cables are thinner and lighter in weight. Armored fiber can withstand more pull pressure than copper and is less prone to damage and breakage. Fiber is flexible, can bend easily, and resists most corrosive elements that often attack copper cables.
More Secure
Fiber optic cable keeps data secure as it does not radiate signal and is difficult to tap without detection. Fiber also lends itself to higher physical security as the hardware and electronics can be installed in one central location, versus the multiple distribution points required for copper.
